Tech Camp

The CTL’s Technology Camp, or “Tech Camp” as it is affectionately known, is one of the highlights of the year for both participants and center staff.  These intensive, multiday workshops are designed to provide faculty with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively integrate technology into their courses.   Campers are given ample opportunity to hone their skills as they apply what they’ve learned through hands-on training and one-on-one consultation to their own course materials.  And they have a heck of a lot of fun while doing it.

Each Tech Camp session has its own recreation-based theme, with associated props, theme-related food, and rewards for camper accomplishments.   For example, for the outdoor camping theme, participants are surrounded by tents, pine trees, and camping gear as they earn badges in Web design, multimedia development, or using blogs and wikis.  Past Tech Camp themes have included Chateau Techneau Lodge (skiing), S.S. Digital Divide (ocean cruise), and Tech Olympics (Olympic sports).

Tech Camp is usually held in late spring or summer.  Watch the CTL events calendar or sign up for the CTL mailing list to find out more about the next Tech Camp session.
